Eight Gospel Music Recordings

He has recorded eight solo CDs featuring some of the finest musicians and producers in Christian music, like Nashville’s Lari Goss and Dick Tunney.

For Time And Eternity (2010)

Classic Songs of the Church, magnificently orchestrated by Lari Goss, and sung by on of Gospel Music’s finest baritone voices, Steve Darmody. This is a CD Steve has always felt destined to do. These were the songs my Father’s generation. Upon finishing a trip to Israel, Steve was drawn to revisit some of these classic songs inspired by the Holy Land and discovered a power and depth that was remarkably touching.

Steve is working with his long time friend, Lari Goss.  Steve and Lari have collaborated on four CDs that span four decades (Friends-1981, Hymns-1995, The Time That Remains-2007, and now For Time and Eternity-2010).

The Time That Remains (2007)

This is one of Steve’s most ambitious projects with full orchestrations on all 11 songs employing the Prague Symphony Orchestra.  This CD features both familiar and new songs with awesome inspirational lyrics, huge orchestrations and powerful interpretations. Each song is message centered and ministry focused. Look for male chorus backgrounds, thrilling french horns and much, much more!

The familiar song titles are taken from Steve’s journey thus far in life – from his first solo at age 14, to his high school graduation performance. Songs include his winning song at the national vocal competitions in Estes Park, Colorado in 1988 and two songs from one of his favorite composers, Babbie Mason. One is a duet with Rudy Micelli – a favorite song in the MS Christmas Tours.

One More Day (2004)

One More Day has eleven new songs sung in a wonderful, smooth ‘old school’ vocal style accompanied by equally lush, and sometimes fun arrangements.  Produced by Dick Tunney, these authentic arrangements feature Jeff Steinberg, conductor of the Nashville Pops and world renowned song writer and arranger, Ralph Carmichael. Simple Gospel  (2000)

This CD contains 12 songs that illustrate the simple elements of the Gospel of Christ. The musical style is simply done with primarily the voice and piano.  The CD lead listeners through a musical journey which shares with them the simple gospel message through the inspiring familiar songs.

Christmas (1992)

If you love the classic hymns of the Christmas season you will love the delicate and sensitive delivery of these most precious of Christmas tunes.  Steve Darmody baritone voice truly infuses the warmth of the season in each song.  Added to these nine favorites is a new song plus two seasonal favorite sung only as a baritone can sing, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and “White Christmas.”

Constant Refuge (1990)

Steve Darmody chose as producer, Dick Tunney, Sandi Patti’s former music director and pianist.  Three songs on this release were also written by this husband and wife grammy and dove award winning songwriting team, Dick and Mel Tunney.  The arrangements are classic inspirational fare with Steve’s voice adding a “masculine elegance” that fills the lyrics with power and conviction.  This is a CD of confidence and challenge.
